Inspirational Quotes

“Part of being who you are has to do with feeling your feelings, which means you'll have a wide range of emotions--not just constant sunshiny happiness.”

Finally, learning occurs within the context of social relationships with other members of the community who have similar, if not identical, issues and concerns from the realm of practice."                  -Virginia Buysse

"A third place to build the Great Society is in the classrooms of America. There your children's lives will be shaped. Our society will not be great until every young mind is set free to scan the farthest reaches of thought and imagination. We are still far from that goal.                                 -Lyndon B. Johnson

"Children benefit most from teachers who have the skills, knowledge, and judgment to make good decisions and are given the opportunity to use them."          -Susan Bredekamp

"We are decision makers. As adults caring for children, it is our responsibility to seek out and intentionally plan the best opportunities for children that support their over-all well being and healthy development. Developmentally appropriate practice, commonly known as DAP, is a comprehensive educational perspective that supports optimal healthy development for every child. Understanding DAP - its meaning and intentional practices - is essential in guiding the decisions we make for young children".                                            -Susan Bredekamp

  1. I really enjoyed reading the quotes that you chose. My favorite one that you picked is definitely the first one. It just reminds everyone that we are not robots, and we can't hide our feelings or ignore them. They are there for a reason.

  2. I like the Susan Bredekamp's quote but I also, like the Virginia Buysse's quote as well. Children learn from those they can relate to, they learn from teacher's with skills, and those with sound judgment.
